Deep Roots in the Granite State

I was born right here in Concord and my story reflects the very best of New Hampshire. My mother’s family has called this state home for more than five generations, while my father immigrated from St. Lucia in the 90s in search of opportunity. They met on a stoop on West St. in Ward 6, and that dual heritage defines my love for this community.

Growing up in a low-income, working-class family during the 2008 financial crisis wasn’t easy. My family relied on state and local programs to keep the heat on in the winter, put food on the table, and ensure we had reliable childcare. I know firsthand what it means to be working-class in Concord, and I know the profound difference a strong social safety net makes in the lives of everyday people.

The Power of Community Investment

Despite early economic challenges, my community saw a kid who loved to learn and decided to invest in my future. Through the Concord Friends Program, mentors opened my eyes to what was possible. With their support, I earned a full scholarship to St. Paul’s School and, later, a full scholarship to Dartmouth College.

When graduation arrived, I faced the same crossroads so many young Granite Staters face: leave for typical post-grad hubs like Boston, or stay. I chose to stay in New Hampshire.

Science, Service and Small Business

I began my career in marine biology, managing a Dartmouth lab investigating PFAS (forever chemicals) and how they contaminate our environment. Studying the environmental and human health impacts of these chemicals sparked my drive to effect systemic, positive change.

To scale that impact, I shifted to data science, using data to empower progressive coalitions, labor unions, and the working class. From helping local campaigns win critical elections to ensuring workers can fight for their rights at SEIU, my focus has always been uplifting everyday people.

My commitment to our community is also rooted in our local economy. My husband and I are proud Concord small business owners running a local data firm. Navigating the day-to-day challenges of entrepreneurship gives me a first-hand understanding of what it takes to keep Concord’s economy vibrant and resilient.

Paying it Forward

Some of the most important lessons I’ve learned in life were right here in Concord. I am the person I am today because this community invested in me when my family needed it most.

Now, I’m running for office to pay that investment forward to ensure that every family and local business in our community has that same opportunity to thrive.

Why I'm Running

Abstract image of the New Hampshire State House with a house, a pride flag, a glass of clean water, a pacifier, a tree, a dollar bill, the scales of justice, and an open book surrounding it.

I’m running to represent Merrimack District 20 (Concord Ward 6) because our state government needs to look like, understand, and fight for everyday people.

Representation That Reflects Our Reality

Lived experience matters in leadership. As a young renter, I bring a firsthand perspective to the housing crisis, the increasing cost of living, and the rising energy costs squeezing families right here in Concord. And as a Black, gay man, I know that voices like mine are too often missing from the halls of the State House. When our legislature reflects the true diversity of our communities across age, race, and identity, we craft better policies that protect all Granite Staters.

A Transparent, Responsive Government

In my work empowering labor unions and running a local business, my focus is always on building systems that actually work for everyday people. I want to bring my dual experience as a data professional and a small business owner to the State House to cut through the noise and make our state government more transparent and responsive to the needs of the people.

Paying Community Investment Forward

Growing up in a working-class family that relied on state and local programs, I know the anxiety of trying to make ends meet. I’m running to protect and strengthen our social safety net and ensure that everyone has the support and opportunity they need to thrive.

Issues

Affordability

Growing up, I knew the fear of wondering if the heat would stay on through a cold winter, or if my school meals account had enough money for lunch. I have lived with that economic anxiety. My top priority is putting money back into the pockets of Granite State families, ensuring that no hard-working neighbor is ever left behind in our pursuit of a stronger economy.

Housing

Our community cannot thrive if young people and working families can’t afford a roof over their heads. As a renter, the housing crisis isn’t just an economic threat to New Hampshire—it’s personal. We need to remove barriers at the state level to increase our housing supply, and protect our renters so that every Granite Stater has a home and community that they call their own.

Environment

We must be able to trust the water from our taps and the food on our tables. As a former PFAS researcher at Dartmouth, I understand the present danger “forever chemicals” pose to the health of our neighbors. We need immediate, science-backed policies to protect our natural resources, hold polluters accountable, and ensure every Granite Stater has a safe environment to thrive.

Education

Your zip code should never determine your child’s future. Education was my ladder to success, and I will fight to ensure that ladder is strong and accessible for every student across New Hampshire. From early childhood to higher education, we must invest in our public schools to provide a world-class educational opportunity for every single child in our state.

Childcare

Reliable childcare was the engine that kept my childhood home running. Today, it is a financial crisis for many, with costs often exceeding rent and demand outpacing supply. It is time we treat childcare as the critical infrastructure it is. We must work to support our working families, empower our workforce, and build a much more stable economic future for our entire community.

Live Free or Die

As a gay, Black man and the son of an immigrant, I know that freedom is only as strong as the protections we provide for our most vulnerable. And embracing "Live Free or Die" means having a constitutional backbone. I will partner with the ACLU of New Hampshire to ensure that every bill I introduce is grounded in justice and designed to safeguard the rights of every person.
